Our vision for reconciliation is a culture that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan
MTC operates from 20 locations across the greater Sydney region. We acknowledge that our sites reside in the Traditional Lands of the Dharug, Tharawal, Deerubbin, Gandangara, La Perouse, and Eora Nations and we make great efforts to build connections with the Traditional Elders of these tribal areas.
MTC Australia believes the development of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) will provide a framework by which we can increase our engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, stakeholders and community members who wish to access our services. Our aim is to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who access our services feel understood and welcomed.
The RAP will assist us in raising awareness of, and celebrating, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and customs among our workforce and provide a platform for MTC to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Additionally, a RAP will help facilitate partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations across our service delivery locations in NSW. These partnerships will form a crucial part of MTC’s efforts to increase participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in our programs which play a vital role in building essential skills required for entry into sustainable employment.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan artwork and document were created by Jasmine Sarin, a proud Kamilaroi and Jerrinja woman from NSW.
