Jinmei had previously been a nurse at a mental health hospital in China for over 20 years before coming to Australia during 2016. Jinmei felt her English was the major factor letting her down in job seeking so she enrolled within a collaborative program between MTC, SkillME, BCA National, and CASS (Chinese Australian Services Society) CARE. The program ran over a five-month period focussing on English language support, work experience, and getting to know the ins and outs of aged and disability services in Australia. At completion of the course Jinmei gained a Certificate III in Individual Support to further improve her resume in addition to her previous overseas experience.
Jinmei devoted herself and gave 110% in improving her English and showcasing her willingness to learn throughout work experience which was in CASS Care’s residential facility. CASS Care was thrilled with the effort and hard work Jinmei put in and offered her employment as a result. Congratulations Jinmei!
