Meet Our People: Christina Koinis

In this week’s edition of Meet Our People, get to know Christina Koinis, the Executive Assistant to our CEO!

Where did you work prior to MTC?

Before MTC, I have worked across Private and Government.  I worked for NSW Treasury Corp just before joining MTC. I have held a number of roles across my career and I think this allows me to adapt to change and new ideas really well.

What made you want to come and work at MTC?

It was time to give back.  I find the work the people at MTC interesting and I admire the qualities of the people who do the work.

What are you responsible for in your role at MTC?

My role is primarily to support the CEO, Colin and the Board.  So yes! I get to sit in the day long meetings typing minutes furiously.  I am also involved with the ELT and assisting where possible, in strategy and administration.

Tell us a bit about your life outside of work

Life’s pretty busy.  As much as I’d like to put my feet up, family takes over.  I have 3 children, aged 12, 11 and 4 – need I say more?

My husband and I are one of four children and with a combined total of 10 nieces and nephews there is always something we are attending or catching up over.  Then you add friends to this mix and there’s so not much time to chill.

What are you doing to pass the time in quarantine?

Baking bread!  With two of my children in school, there’s been plenty of home schooling too and playing with playdough with my youngest.

Are there any TV shows or books that you’ve seen during quarantine that you’d recommend?

I’m pretty impressed my kids have discovered Full House – so that’s always a good blast from the past. The last series I have watched on Netflix have been Money Heist, Queen of the South, Schitt’s Creek, Tiger King and Working Mums – they are all pretty decent recommendations!
