What is the Skills for Education & Employment (SEE) program?
MTC Australia’s Skills for Education and Employment (SEE/Learn English) helps eligible job seekers improve their English language, job search, and computer skills. Our SEE program caters to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, with the goal of helping you more effectively engage with work and study.
The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, and through it MTC offers flexible training in reading, writing, and speaking English, as well as lessons in numeracy and employability skills.
Why is Skills for Education & Employment training important?
Improving your language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills can increase your confidence and ability to engage in your community and to undertake further study. Learning new vocational skills or improving your vocational skills can also help you access different employment opportunities. SEE caters to various groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, youth, people with disabilities, mature aged people, and job seekers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Am I eligible for Skills for Education & Employment?
The SEE program is open to people who are:
Aged 15 years to 66 years old
An Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian visa with working rights
Registered with an Australian government service as looking for work
Assessed as suitable for training without any barriers that would prevent successful participation
The SEE program is not open to people who are:
A full-time student at the time of referral
Undertaking the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) or any other program that could impact successful participation in the SEE program
Current holders of a Skilled Migrant Visa or a secondary holder of a Skilled Migrant Visa (dependent)
How do I apply for SEE?

current employment services provider to refer you to MTC Australia’s SEE program.
How Skills for Education & Employment works
Once a job seeker has selected MTC as their SEE program provider, they are entitled to receive FREE English language, literacy, numeracy, job-search, and computer skills training. This training consists of courses and classes tailored to your needs through a flexible part-time or full-time study pathway.
Participants in SEE will learn the following skills within the program:
English Language Skills
Our classes teach students how to read, write, and speak the English language, improving their English skills for work and training.
Computer Skills
Students will have separate classes which focus on digital literacy, and how to use computers in English.
Industry-Specific Skills
We offer industry-specific SEE pathway courses in Care & Childcare, Retail, Cleaning, and Job Skills.
Job Searching Skills
We help your customers improve their job searching skills, develop their resumes, and get prepared for their next interview so you know they are one step closer to employment.
