Unique Student Identifier (USI)
From 1 January 2015 onwards, all students who undertake vocational education and training must hold a Unique Student Identifier (USI). A USI number is a unique reference made of 10 numbers that is allocated to anyone studying nationally recognised Vocational Educational Training (VET) in Australia. This can be obtained by registering online at http://www.usi.gov.au.
Enrolment Process
MTC Australia has the following process for enrolling a student in the NSW Government subsidised training under Smart and Skilled. You are required to:
- Collect information about the course and entry requirements
- Confirm eligibility conditions
- Confirm fee structure
- Commence enrolment process
- Provide/create Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- MTC Australia processes enrolment application
- Student receives enrolment notification
