BSB30115 – Certificate III in Business

This course provides participants with a range of career options in diverse business settings. In a friendly and supportive environment, you’ll develop a broad range of competencies, knowledge and practical skills.

This versatile, nationally accredited qualification will prepare you for career opportunities such as administrative assistant, office assistant, customer service officer, payroll officer and data entry operator.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

Who is it For?

This course is available to eligible participants under the Smart and Skilled initiative of NSW State Training. To be eligible, you need to:

  • Be aged 15 or older
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder
  • Live or work in NSW
  • Have left school and have no previous qualifications at Certificate IV or higher.

Given the technical nature of this course, we recommend that participants have language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Certificate III level. You will be required to undertake a pre-training assessment prior to enrolment to ensure you have adequate skills to undertake the course.

You will require language literacy, numeracy and digital skills to:

  • Read and comprehend the course learning content
  • Conduct internet research
  • Engage in online learning, including video conferencing sessions
  • Use a range of software to communicate electronically and create digital workplace documents.

How it Works

This course is delivered online, helping participants stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and fit their study around other commitments.

Duration and Delivery Mode: This course is delivered online through Microsoft Teams and is scheduled for 25 hours per week (Monday – Friday, five hours per day) for a total of twelve weeks, with an additional week for reassessment opportunities. Study hours are structured as follows:

  • Two days of facilitated virtual learning, 5 hours per day
  • Approximately 10-15 hours per week of self-paced learning through our online learning platform
  • One 20-minute virtual coaching session per week.

Learner IT requirements: Participants must have access to a computer or laptop, relevant software and the internet to undertake this course.

Units of Competency

You will need to complete 12 units of competency, including 1 core unit and 11 elective units. The units cover topics such as communication, workplace innovation, business technology and health and safety.
