Work for the Dole: Language, Literacy & Numeracy for Job Seekers
This course provides you with literacy, numeracy, digital and job-specific skills to become better qualified for employment. It’s a Work for the Dole eligible program that includes computer literacy training for job seekers who need digital experience and capabilities.
Who is it For?
To be eligible for this course, you need to be:
- Aged 18–59
- Participating in jobactive
- Receiving income support payments and have a mutual obligation requirement
How it Works
MTC Australia can deliver the course at one of our 20 locations across NSW or onsite with a jobactive provider. You’ll attend face-to-face training tailored to your needs in a friendly and supportive environment. New intakes start every fortnight.
The course includes training in four key areas:
- Literacy and numeracy
- Vocational skills
- Computer literacy: online job search and applications, email and online communications, touch typing and Microsoft Office applications
- Pre-employment: resume writing, interviews, career planning, cold calling, volunteering, canvassing letters and networking
At the end of the course, you will have a Statement of Attainment or Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways (FSK20113). You will also have the option to go on to complete a Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology (ICT20115).
