Youth Frontiers is a NSW Government youth mentoring program that targets students between the ages of 12 & 16, with the capacity to benefit from the support of a mentor.
It’s designed to help students build confidence, leadership skills and community connectedness. Youth Frontiers mentors receive specialised training and ongoing support.
Who is it For?
Youth Frontiers is aimed at students with the capacity to benefit from the support of a mentor. All students between the ages of 12 & 16 who have parental / school permission, are eligible to join the program.
MTC Australia offers Youth Frontiers across South Western Sydney, Western Sydney, Nepean and Blue Mountains.
How it Works
Young people participating in Youth Frontiers are matched with mentors who spend at least 32 hours over six months supporting them to achieve their goals.
The program gives mentees an opportunity to build life skills and self-confidence by working with their mentors to undertake a project that makes a positive difference in their local community.
At the end of the six months, students, mentors and families attend a showcase where students have the opportunity to share their community projects. The most innovative projects are nominated for state-wide recognition.
