This online course provides you with a range of career options in diverse business settings. You will develop a broad range of technology, business knowledge and practical skills. This course will prepare you for career opportunities such as Medical Receptionist, Records Clerk, Administrative Assistant, Customer Service Representative and Medical Secretary. As part of this course, you will receive the support you need to apply for jobs, revamp or build your resume, obtain practical job interview techniques and establish your professional social media profile e.g. seek profile. Our specialist Business Trainers will guide you through this course to ensure you have the best possible opportunity of securing employment in a business administration industry.
Note for Employment Services Providers – Participation in this course equates to 20 PBAS points per week. MTC Australia will provide you with regular updates on your participants’ progress and participation, including any job outcomes. Completion of this course may be used in part to claim a Progress Payment. Evidence of course completion will be provided.
Who Is It For?
This course is available to all students under the Smart and Skilled initiative of NSW State Training. To be eligible, you need to:
- Be aged 15 years or older
- No longer at school
- Living and working in NSW
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

You will require the Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital skills to:
- Read and comprehend the course learning content
- Conduct a basic internet search
- Engage in online learning, including video conferencing sessions
- Use a range of software to communicate electronically and create simple documents
You may also be required to have access to a computer or laptop and an internet connection.

How It Works
Delivery Mode and Duration: This course is delivered online through Microsoft Teams and is scheduled for 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day) for a total of 26 weeks, with an additional week for reassessment opportunities. It will include:
- Three days of facilitated virtual learning, Monday to Wednesday, 5 hours per day
- Approximately 5 hours per week of self-paced learning through our online learning platform
- Weekly virtual coaching session
Learner IT Requirements: Customers must have access to a computer or laptop and the internet to undertake this course.
Course Units
This qualification will take 26 weeks, including face-to-face training, student focused activities, and assessment. You must complete 13 units, including 6 core and 7 electives.

Certification
Successful completion of this course will lead to a nationally recognised qualification in Australia, awarded by MTC Australia. Should a student not complete the full qualification, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the units in which the student is deemed Competent.
Veterans Cohort
Veterans
Serving ADF veterans with a confirmed future transition date are Eligible to access BSB30120 Certificate III in Business. A veteran’s ‘transition date’ is the date they will exit the ADF. Once a veteran exits the ADF, they may be eligible to access any subsidised training.
Family members of serving ADF personnel
The partners and adult children of serving members of the ADF (with or without a transition date) are Eligible to access BSB30120 Certificate III in Business.

Eligible learners can study any course offered under the Government’s Smart and Skilled program, from Certificate II to Advanced Diplomas, including all apprenticeships and selected traineeships.
