What is the Skills for Education & Employment (SEE) program?
MTC Australia’s Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program helps you build confidence and improve your English language, literacy, and numeracy skills. This program is perfect for those who want to get a job or continue their studies.
Designed for people from diverse cultural and language backgrounds, the SEE program is customised to match your abilities and goals. We focus on creating a supportive community so you feel comfortable and safe while learning.
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the SEE program offers flexible training in:
- Reading, writing, and speaking English
- Numeracy skills
- Employability skills
- Computer skills
The SEE program builds the basic blocks of English language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills, providing a strong foundation for further education and employment opportunities.
Why is Skills for Education & Employment training important?
The Skills for Education & Employment (SEE) program is a government-funded initiative designed to help you succeed. By improving your language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills, the SEE program can boost your confidence and ability to engage in your community , continue your education or pursue your career goals.
Learning new vocational skills or enhancing your current ones can open up various job opportunities. The SEE program is flexible and tailored to meet the needs of different groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, young people, people with disabilities, mature-aged individuals, and job seekers from diverse backgrounds.
With better reading, writing, speaking, numeracy, and computer skills, you’ll have a solid foundation for further study and be more prepared for job opportunities and new careers. The SEE program helps you get to where you want to be by providing the essential skills needed to succeed in today’s job market.
Am I eligible for Skills for Education & Employment?
The SEE program is open to people who are:
Aged over 15 years and have left school
Either an Australian citizen, a permanent visa holder on a provisional or temporary visa with working rights and eligible for the Adult Migrant English Program, or a Pacific Australian Labour Mobility visa holder
Individuals will be deemed not eligible for the SEE Program if they are enrolled in either:
The Adult Migrant English Program any other Program as advised by the department from time to time.
How do I apply for SEE?
To apply for SEE, please contact our Customer Care team on 1300 232 663 or at [email protected] or ask your current employment services provider to refer you to MTC Australia’s SEE program.
Want to enroll in SEE but not with an Employment Services Provider?
Even if you are not registered with an EmploymentServices Provider, you can still join the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program as a Volunteer Job Seeker, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria.

How Skills for Education & Employment works
When you choose MTC as your SEE program provider, you get access to FREE training in English language, literacy, numeracy, job-search, and computer skills. We offer part-time, full-time, and flexible study options to fit your schedule.
Here’s what you’ll learn in the SEE program:
- English Language Skills: Our classes help you improve your English reading, writing, and speaking skills, making you more confident and ready for work and further training.
- Computer Skills: We offer separate classes focused on digital literacy, teaching you how to use computers effectively in English.
- Job Searching Skills: We assist you in enhancing your job search techniques, developing strong resumes, and preparing for interviews, bringing you one step closer to employment.

Unable to attend face to face classes?
If you have barriers that mean you are not able to come into one of our training centres to participate in classes, we can still help. Our distance offering is fully remote but still with the same support we offer all our participants. Eligibility for this offering applies.

Participant Support
At MTC, we aim to make your learning journey not just educational, but life-changing. Our Support Services are here to help you overcome any barriers you might face.
Whether you’re studying at one of our locations or online, our dedicated Participant Support Officers (PSOs) are ready to help. They are focused on ensuring you get the most out of your training with MTC by keeping you motivated, helping you find work, and reaching your goals. You’ll start with a 1-on-1 Introductory Session early in your training and have up to 3 hours of PSO sessions throughout your training with us.
No matter what challenges you encounter—academic, personal, or logistical—your PSO is there to support you every step of the way.
