The CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course will teach you how to work collaboratively with educators to provide care and support to children. Successful completion of this course may lead to career opportunities as a family day care worker, early childhood educator, playgroup supervisor, team leader, childhood educator or childhood educator assistant.

Who Is It For?
This course is available to all students under the Smart and Skilled initiative of NSW State Training. To be eligible, you need to:
- Be aged 15 years or older
- No longer at school
- Living and working in NSW
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen

You will require the Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital skills to:
- Read and comprehend the course learning content
- Conduct a basic internet search
- Engage in online learning, including video conferencing sessions
- Use a range of software to communicate electronically and create simple documents
You may also be required to have access to a computer or laptop and an internet connection.

How It Works
MTC offers this course as a Traineeship, which combines workplace training and assessment with distance-based learning. Training support is provided throughout the course to ensure participants have the greatest chance of successful completion.
Duration and Delivery Mode: This is a self-paced course and can take up to 12 months to complete. The training sessions are delivered face-to-face and online through Microsoft Teams and are arranged by the trainer. The self-paced learning is through our online learning platform and requires approximately 10-15 hours study per week.
Practical Placement Hours: Minimum of 120 hours (working hours can be integrated as placement hours for traineeship participants).
Learner IT Requirements: Customers must have access to a computer or laptop, word processing software and the internet to undertake this course.
Course Units
You will need to complete 17 units of competency, including 15 core units and 2 elective units. The units cover topics such as communication, workplace innovation, business technology and health and safety.
