Lamiye first arrived in Australia several years ago but struggled to find a job as language was a barrier and she had never worked before, despite her hardworking nature and motivation.
She started our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program in the hope of improving her English and employability skills and Lamiye’s trainer found her to be a very dedicated student. Lamiye threw herself into the coursework, completing all of her tasks and assignments and never hesitating to ask for help when she needed it.
Lamiye was not afraid to express her thoughts, which helped her blossom in class and improve her communication skills together with her vocabulary and reading skills.
With the help of her trainer, and her new English and digital skills, Lamiye was able to find a position working as a laundry assistant with Spotless in North Rocks!
Lamiye strongly believes her success in finding this job is due to the training she received at MTC, which has helped her to improve her ability to communicate in English. She mentioned to her trainer that she loved her coursework and is grateful that it has helped her to better understand different jobs and how to do a cover letter and resume.
We are thrilled about Lamiye’s success and are so happy that she enjoyed her time with us!
